The projectwas born from a small group of luthiers and bow makers, each having a link, a singular history with Mirecourt and the desire to honor its School of violin making, its protagonists and those who still keep it alive today.
The LAME association (Luthiers Archetiers Mirecourt Events) was created for this unique occasion. Very quickly she received the support of the Town Hall, the student luthiers, their teachers and the Lycée Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume, the Community of Communes Mirecourt Dompaire, the Grand Est Region, the European Leader Funds, the School of Music Intermunicipal, actors of local cultural life and many others.
Ideas are flowing and the program of festivities is expanding rapidly:
- conferences
- concerts
- exhibitions
- tradeshow
- violin making and bow making competition
- shows
The goal is to make this moment something grand and memorable.
A few months before the festivities, the pandemic invites itself into the preparations and the decision is made to postpone the 50th anniversary. It is therefore in July 2021 that we meet for the 50+1. Unfortunately, the idea of associating an International competition with the ENL jubilee is no longer possible, but despite a "lighter" program, this festive weekend is a great success with330registrations!
The Student Choir from the École Nationale de Lutherie, their music teacher Jean-Baptiste Brungard and the Quatuor Convergences welcome the participants with music.
Official visit workshops of the National School of Lutherie.

A project within the project ! The association "Les métronomes" reveals the model of the future statue created by the artist Philippe Scené. A call for donations has been launched so that the city will soon see this work raised in honor of violin making, the craftsmanship that has made Mirecourt famous.

Fifty fifty! is performed by an improvised ensemble of violin and bow makers under the direction of Valerie Deybach.
At the initiative of Valerie Klein and Anne-Sophie Trivin, the Museum of French violin making and bow making of Mirecourt, with the support of the DRAC and the Community of Commune Mirecourt Dompaire, presents a scripted, poetic and amusing reading inspired by testimonies of singular stories between violin makers and their knives.
Histoires de canifs is interpreted by Lorelyne Foty, Chrisitan Magnani and Jean-Nicolas Mathieu.
Some highlights! The luthier is studious, creative, curious but above all... festive!
